Writing Extension 21:5:19

Today ( Tuesday 21st May ) I went to writing extension. For writing extension, we went down to the Gisborne wharf. We went to the wharf to take some photos and get some inspiration for a short story we have to write. At the wharf we had fun we went on the rail bridge and we walked past the Mindlab as well as seeing the workers working in the log yard. For our short story, it can be made up but still have some realistic factors in it. We have to write it in a google doc with the font no bigger than 12. Our stories have to be at least 2 pages long and no more than five pages. I really enjoyed the writing extension today.

Famous New Zealander

Today in cyber smart we had to find facts on a famous New Zealander and put who we chose, a picture of them, three facts about them and why we chose them. I chose Murray Ball. After we did the research and everything we had to use screencastify to film a video of us saying the information. Before today I had no idea how to use screencastify and how to film but I do now.

Writing Extension

On Monday 13th May I went to writiing extision and wrote two story's. For the first story we had a picture of a monkey sitting on a tree stump holding a leaf above his head sheltering him from the rain. For the second story we had to write a story but we were not allowed to use some words. Some of the words we were not allowed to use were Then, It, When... And so on. It was a fun challenge and I really enjoyed it.

Story One

It was another significantly humid day in the rainforest. The rain was a wonderfully refreshing break from everything. Dylan could hear loud and horror filled thunder claps off in the distance, a sign that there was a huge storm on the way. Grasping a leaf way bigger than himself he used it to shelter him from the rain while sitting comfortably on the edge of a tree stump. Raindrops that pounded on the leaf sounded like impatient fingertips, but Dylan didn't care as he knew his companions were on the way to him.

Story Two

Once upon a time, there was a colossal cottage which belonged to a despicable Giant called Kreature. One day Kreature stumbled upon an abnormally tiny house compared to his and the owner of the house was a tiny magical creature called Dobby. Kreature he thought it would be funny to stomp on Dobby's house and kill dobby but dobby felt giant Kreatures footsteps and got out of the way and used powerful magic to kill Kreature. Because Kreature was a giant the spell didn't work on him and dobby got squished by Kreature

Camp Moment In Time

Recently in class, we have been doing a moment in time writing. We are doing camp moment in times. For this, I wrote about our sandcastle building competition. Doing this I learned that good writers rewrite their writing multiple time and change it up. This piece was hard because you had to over exaggerate and use a bunch of writing features.

Fridge Magnet

Today in cyber smart we made fridge magnets. To make them we had to add a picture of ourselves, we had to put our name on it and we had to make a bit.ly and a QR code. Before today I had no idea what bit.ly was but now I can see myself using it again. It was very easy. I also had no idea how to make a QR code but today I have learned how to make a QR code and a bit.ly link. It was fun and I enjoyed doing it.

Multiculturalism

Why Multiculturalism Is Important To Our Community

I believe multiculturalism is important to our community. Multiculturalism has a large effect on our society in many different ways. By being a multicultural society, it can make the community less same same.

Multiculturalism is great because it can make more people a lot more accepting. Having multiple different cultures can give other people from other cultures more opportunities. Having multiple cultures in our society brings differences all around from lifestyle to the food.

There are many differences in different cultures. Some cultures have different food or different ways of doing things. By having a multicultural community you have all sorts of things. You have different types of food or different skills. You can also learn a lot from different cultures from skills to other ways of life.

There are many different life skills you can have from having a multicultural community. Just interacting with other people is great because you can learn about other countries. Multiculturalism can help with traveling because you will probably know a thing or two about the country you're going to. Having a multicultural community can help you understand a lot more as well.

Overall having a multicultural community can benefit different people in different ways. It’s better for society to have differences. We can learn a lot from having multiple cultures. There are beneficial things from the food to the skills. Having a multicultural community is great.
